the guy behind the lens
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit" - Aristotle
Observe... Anticipate... Capture... Shoot first and shoot often because life doesn't always give you a second chance. You can't go back in time, but you can take a piece of today into the future.
Who - a serious amateur with aspirations of becoming good enough someday
What - primarily focused on sports, action & wildlife; but generally I shoot everything from people and places to food and flowers
Where - ideally worldwide, but for now, mostly in Naperville, Illinois
When - shooting intermittently since the early 1980's (ie. since the days of film)
How - Nikon DSLR, Sony mirrorless & iPhone
Why - because practice makes perfect (in a perfect world)

The Milky Way is faintly visible in the center of this photograph shot at the Spring Brook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville, Illinois. This scene is marred by the light pollution that is ubiquitous in this part of the country.
The Rainbow Bridge in Minato, Tokyo, Japan as seen from the Aqua City Mall on Odaiba. This suspension bridge spans northern Tokyo Bay from Shubaura Pier to Odaiba, an island that is home to a massive shopping and entertainment mecca. Yakatabune tour boats decorate the bay in front of the bridge. This scene was shot with a Nikon D800 and a Nikkor 24-120mm f4, at 24 mm, 1/30, ISO 400, handheld on August 4, 2013.
Various aquatic life from various aquariums around the world.
